Review by Michael A. Duvernois:
Okay, what are you supposed to do before making a cut? Measure twice. Yeah, except with this kit. There are no measurements for the parts you want to build, in fact, no real instructions at all. Okay, bring a ruler or measuring tape to the project and offer some guidance to the kids. Now you build something and the tools work pretty well, there is very little mess, and the end result isn’t bad. But you’ve very quickly used up the materials provided in the box. Yes, you can order more, but the cost per project is quite high. Probably about a factor of 10 higher than using actual wood. (Though that would have more difficult safety issues.)
I think this is a good project item for parents to work with their 5-8 year old kids. Probably especially good for parents who normally aren’t do-it-yourselfers to give the children some exposure to it with kid-friendly tools.
